Welcome to the third entry in our Black History Month-UK October countdown where we spotlight a Ghanaian whose work has had an impact in the UK and beyond.
What do you know about global best-selling Black British novelist Dr Dorothy Koomson?
Her books have sold over 2.5 million copies in the UK alone and her books have been translated into over 30 languages.
She wrote her first book There’s A Thin Line Between Love And Hate at age 13, and has 20 books under her belt in her 21 years as a published author.
Her 2010 bestseller novel: The Ice Cream Girls was adapted in 2013 for an ITV series. And earlier this year, she received an honorary degree from the University of Brighton in recognition of her writing career and efforts to improve inclusivity in publishing.
She is currently writing the sequel to her latest novel: Every Smile You Fake. Check out our review of the book.
